Learn how to install WordPress on your Web Hosting Plan

In this tutorial, we’re going to explain how you can install WordPress on Plesk. WordPress is a free and open-source content management system written in PHP. With WordPress, you can build and maintain a website.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Log into Plesk

Go to your client area and log in with your credentials.

Navigate to My Dashboard and click on Webhosting. Click on the web host you want to use.

If you click on Login Details, you will see your login credentials.

Click on the URL above to log in.

Step 2: Installing WordPress

Click in the left pane on Websites and Domains. Now click in the right pane on WordPress.

Select Install WordPress. You can also scan to find existing sites, in order to do that click on Scan.

  • Installation path: the path of your installation
  • Website title
  • Plugin/theme set: you can choose here the theme you want.
  • Website language
  • Version: you can choose whether you want the current version or an older version.

The database is automatically filled in, but you can change this if you’d like to.

WordPress Themes: WordPress Essentials, E-Commerce pack, WordPress Classic, Jetpack, WordPress Essentials with Jetpcj, E-Commerce pack with Jetpack, WordPress Classic with Jetpack.

In Automatic Updates Settings you can select automated WordPress updates. You can also select if you would like the plugins to be included or not. When everything is entered click on Install.

The installation will now begin.

Once the installation is finished, you’ll see a green indicator on the bottom right letting you know that the installation was successful.
