Two-Factor Authentication (2FA for short) or multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to the login process. In this article, we will learn how to enable two-factor authentication for my.snel.com.
You need an account at my.snel.com with Two-Factor Authentication disabled. You can sign up here if you have no account yet. On your phone, you will need Google Authenticator, Authy or a comparable app.
Step 1: Log in at my.snel.com
Go to https://my.snel.com and enter your e-mail address and password and click on “Submit”:
Step 2: Go to edit details page
Click in the left menu on “Edit your details” then “Edit your details”.
Step 3: Enable Two-Factor Authentication
On the page that loads enable (by checking the checkbox) Two-Factor Authentication. This will show the code in plain-text and a QR code. We recommend that you note the code so you can recover your account without our intervention. Click “Save Changes”. Don’t worry, the code will still be shown on screen so you can add the code to Google Authenticator in the next step.
After clicking “Save Changes” make sure you see a little pop-up stating “Your details changed”.
Step 4: Add account to Google Authenticator app
Start the Google Authenticator app on your phone and add an account.
On the “Add an account” page tap on “Scan a barcode” and scan the QR code shown on my.snel.com. Now the account is added to your Google Authenticator app it should look like this:
Step 5: Log out and log back in
It’s time to test whether the changes are effective. Log out by clicking on the profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen and then click on “Logout”.
This will bring you to the log in screen. Enter your e-mail address and password and click on “Submit”:
Next, you will be asked for a “Security Code”. Open your Google Authenticator app on your phone and fill in the code shown in your phone and click on “Login”.
