Excluding files and folders in Snel Cloud Backup

In this article we will explain how you can exclude files and folders from your backups to Snel Cloud Backup.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Log in

Go to backup.snel.com and log in with your details. The login details can be found in our client area under “Extra Services” -> “Snel Cloud Backup“.

Step 2: Exclude files and folders

Go to “Settings” -> “Protected Items”. Click on the name of the protected item of the server for which you want to make the changes, be sure you select the appropriate type (type needs to be “Files and Folders”). This will open a new dialog showing the settings of the protected item. Click on “Items” in the menu and you will see the following screen:

When you click on the + icon you can add a new file or folder path to be excluded.

When adding a new file or folder which needs to be excluded you have 2 options, “Exclude” or “Exclude regex”. Both options will show you some examples:

Exclude:

Choose the type of exclusion you want to add, fill in the path and click on “Save”. This will bring you back to the dialog showing the settings of the protected item, click on “Save” again.
